On our first visit to Mexico City Kalynn and I had the chance to snag a reservation for a Luis Barragan tour. Luis was a influential mexican engineer and architect known for his contemporary architecture. You’ve probably seen photos of his catchy bright colored buildings and homes on blogs and Instagram.
What’s cool about this tour is that its run by architecture students who pick you up in a vintage Volkswagen Bus and give you a tour of his most monumental work around the city. I would definitely recommend this tour to architecture enthusiasts or anyone who appreciates good design. It was interesting to learn from the tour guide all the little details about his work that you would probably miss if you were on your own. Stuff like his color theory, material choices, and his use of light.
